‘Four-way crossing’ square Fountain. A Coruña

The architectural lighted fountain located in the Plaza de Cuatro Caminos is a highly characterized and estimated urban element in the city of La Coruna, well known nationwide for being the favorite place of fans of Deportivo La Coruna, to celebrate the triumphs of their football team.

Prior to remodeling Hydraulics & lighting instalation of the old electromechanical technology, characterized (in contrast to the current technology Aquatic Ballet), to provide a very limited range water games and light and require a strong energy costs for operation.

Being this Fountain an urban element of particular importance in the city, it was very convenient to rehabilitate it, but using in the rehabilitation the best current technology for maximum effectiveness in the water aesthetics and the important social role it deserves.

The fountain was rehabilitated in Aquatic Ballet able to offer the following features:

a) In daytime operation:

Water sequences characteristics of a traditional architectural fountain, which can be programmed with the dynamics and diversity that are deemed compatible with their function of a channeling traffic element.(ie that excessive spectacularity of the water displays will not lead to motorist distraction).

b) In normal night operation:

Water and light sequences (white) or water-color, in the same sense as the foregoing (without spectacular water features of a nature found not appropriate with the channeling of traffic).

c) On certain dates, commemorations, etc.:

In which the traffic is set aside or adequately limited using the square as a place of public assembly, the fountain functions as a “scenario” water-color water-color-music shows, constituting a special focus of attraction.
